You know when you watch a video and you're like "Yup, that's going viral AF" 💥@simonjpierce does it again.....
Words and video by @simonjpierce "Nommmmmmmmmmm. At high resolution, you can actually watch the poor little shrimp trying to flee... 🦈 Also, it's about time for my sporadic reminder that you are most welcome to join us on a whale shark research trip in 2018, including our next trip to Mafia Island (where I am now). Check the link in my bio for details ☺️"
Video by @simonjpierce. The whale sharks were feeding on shrimp in a Trichodesmium slick today. Trichodesmium is a cyanobacterium that creates nitrogen, and smells like watermelon. It can also be mildly toxic, but whale shark don't care.
Whale sharks #rhincodontypus are the largest known fish in the sea. They have “soft” skin compared to most sharks and calmly filterfeed as #gentlegiants @oceanramsey pictured here dancing with vacuum feeding whale sharks in Isla Mujeres a seasonal aggregate site. Hawai’i rarely sees adults but 20-30ft juveniles. #whaleshark#sharkdance#helpsavesharks photo by @juansharks
The highlight of the year! Swimming with Whale Sharks! So grateful Matt and I were able to experience these gentle giants, gracefully swimming through the deep blue. #2017recap
Always feeling extra fortunate when my “compa” @nuttynulty joins on an adventure. Here’s just a few of the many unforgettable moments he has filmed with us in Bahía de los Ángeles. Thanks Mike...you’re awesome!
