Where in Africa was this taken?
The photo was taken in the northern part of Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana. It is on the banks of the Khwai river.
Can you describe the experience for us?
This area is very abundant with wildlife, so we had seen many species, including the red lechwe, but never in a good position to get a good photograph. When we saw this one, it seemed like we surprised it and it was not sure what to do. We immediately stopped and did nothing. The lechwe didn’t move, as if it was saying "take the shot, it’s ok". We felt thankful it would allow us in its domain. ** Want a feature? We're all about promoting African experiences. Take a snap and tag #habashweafrica and we'll find you.

Port St. John's, Eastern Cape
Can you describe the experience?
Municipal workers were striking for over time and bonuses. We couldn't enter the town so had to drive across a bridge, park my car and then cross the river with boat. All entrances to town besides the jetty were closed!
I only started work 4 hours after. ** To be featured tag #habashweafrica and we'll find you.

Where in Africa was this taken?
This was taken on top of the Amphitheater in the northern Drakensberg, at Tugela Falls, the second highest waterfall in the world
Can you describe the experience?
We had planned this trip form months, and a few weeks before the trip we got word that a large snowstorm was going to hit the mountain in the exact time we were planning on being there. We experienced a foot of snow in summer, an extremely rare event and one that has almost never been professionally photographed. We camped on top for 4 days and experienced the whole storm from start to finish. To say that this was a once in a lifetime experience would be an understatement!
Who else should we follow for more?
I went with some amazing guys, including @hougaard_malan, @alexnail, @jacques_crafford and a few more guys. **

Being in the bush, completely cut off from the outside world is necessary every once in a while. About a year ago I spent 5 days camping in Botswana... no running water, no electricity, no internet! Lol... But it was a beautiful experience. So often life gets hectic and an experience like this can bring things into perspective. What's important, what's not. What's worthy of your mental space, what's not. #Travel #Botswana #Africa #Safari

Where in Africa was this taken?
This moment was captured during a recent 2 day visit to the African Ivory Route's Fundudzi camp near Tshivase in Venda, a small village in the northern most part of Limpopo province.
Can you describe the experience?
The scene was set in a luminous green valley, the Royal Kraal of the Makwarani Village. As we ascended on the bumpy 2 track, I could sense the magic in the air. The anticipation was rising, the dust settling on my tongue. Suddenly there it was, a dazzle of colour underneath a giant Wild Fig tree. I could hear the soft sound of woman singing, their melody carried on the back of a gentle breeze. Two woman came down the path to meet us. For a moment they lay down at our feet, hands pressed together slightly pointing towards the sky.
What followed was a feast for the senses. The deep pulsing sound of their drums beat right through me, drawing me closer. Their feet grinding the earth as they danced to the ancient rhythm. With every step I could feel the pulse rushing through my veins straight to the heart. At that moment I knew, we are all connected by the same thread, we have just forgotten.
Who else should we follow for more?
Follow @tfpd_sa on insta or contact the local guide Mr. Nelson Maphaha on +27 (82) 3592433 for amazing 1-3 day Cultural hikes through the mystical Sacred Forest, past Tshitsingo potholes and the mysterious Lake Funduzi.

Where in Africa was this taken?
The Mohembo border post between Namibia and Botswana, situated on the northern end of the Okavango Delta.
Can you describe the experience?
By this stage, @divjvr and myself had already cycled 600km from Victoria Falls, cycletouring via Namibia's Caprivi strip, enroute to Maun which is considered the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Man, experience overload! We had already witnessed every spectacular sunrise and sunset during our journey, been woken up by a buffalo 5m from our tent next to the Zambezi river, startled by sneaky elephants and massive herds crossing the road, observed lazy hippos and crocs in the Okavango river, struggled to fix broken spokes, passed out next to the road from intense heat, visited the Victoria falls and rafted down its rapids! Africa is so much fun if you are willing!
Who else should we follow for more?
Haha...obviously you should follow @fineyoungadventurersclub, we are working on some more adventures we can share with you. Also check out @barefootadventurersclub who are on a rad mission in a Tuk Tuk. Alternatively just get out there yourself!

Where was this taken?
This photo was taken on the 26th of April in klipriviersberg nature reserve about 11km outside of Johannesburg.
Can you describe the experience?
My friend Mike was up from Cape Town and staying with me for a couple of days. I really needed to get out after being forced to listen to Kendrick Lamar for days on end. I'd told him about Klipriviersberg, so we decided to head there for a chilled stroll. While we were walking, I was trying to take photos, but the light was flat and boring. After basically giving up on taking any decent pics, I decided to take us on a bit of a detour along the pipe that spans between the koppies. It has a walkway and sits about 20 metres above the ground in the middle of the valley. It just so happened that when we were up there, the light was perfect.

Today's feature: @tyrone_mckindery with the most incredible grass owl photograph:
Where was this taken?
1. The photo was taken in Kyalami, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa in the Greater Kyalami Conservancy (GEKCO) where I have been working for the last 5 years.
Tell us about the experience?
2. The African Grass Owl (Tyto capensis) is a threatened Red Data species that requires very specific wetland habitat to build their nests and tunnels where they spend their days. There are several suitable nesting sites for the Grass Owls but they are being placed under increasing pressure through urbanisation. One of my jobs at the conservancy is to make sure that proposed developments recognize the presence of the Grass Owls in their environmental impact assessments (EIA) and make sure that the correct specialist studies are done for each development. In 2013 we were alerted to a development next door to one of the known nesting sites and we noticed that the presence of the owls had not been included in the EIA. We informed the relevant environmental consultant and were completely ignored so we called in two Grass Owl specialists to verify the nesting site. The day that we met with the specialists at the nesting site a fire 'randomly' started on the opposite side of the property. The grass was incredibly dense and dry and within minutes the small fire turned into a massive blaze that quickly destroyed the entire nesting site leaving us helpless to stop it. We stood and watched as the pair of Grass Owls flew up and down to try escape the hot flames and eventually they flew off when there was no more grass to hide in. My only thought at the time was to get photos of the owls as proof of their presence for the EIA. It takes at least three years for the grass to return to a condition that's good enough for the owls to nest in and we don't even know how the owls respond to these fires in peri-urban environments. I was saddened by the thought that the owls might never return to the site....see first comment to continue the story

Where in Africa are you?
I am currently at Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge in Magoebaskloof, a lush green belt of afro montane forests in the heart of Limpopo Province, South Africa.
Describe the sights and sounds from your shot?
As I lay in bed waiting the sunrise I could hear the melodic sounds of birds welcoming the rays of light streaming in over the forest. The distinct call of the Chorister robin chat echoed through the valley, backed up by a cacophony of song coaxing me out of bed along with the smell of freshly brewed coffee. What a sight to see the bright verdant tree tops from my bedroom window framed by soft powder blue skies, I could wake up like this everyday!

Waking up to the melodic sound of the dawn chorus, a fanfare for the sun as light streams in over the forest canopy. One cannot help but have a song in your heart. Late afternoon mood on the beach in Port Saint John's. Minutes before, the sun was streaming through the trees. Robert Sobukwe House - Robben Island
Sobukwe was sentenced to three years in prison. After serving his sentence, he was interned on Robben Island.
The new General Law Amendment Act was passed, allowing Robert Sobukwe imprisonment to be renewed annually at the discretion of the Minister of Justice. This procedure went on for a further three years.
Sobukwe was kept in solitary confinement but permitted certain privileges including books, newspapers, etc.
He lived in a separate area on the island where he was strictly prohibited from contact with other prisoners. His only contacts with them were through his secret hand signals while outside for exercise. Despite this, he succeeded in giving his approval to the external PAC to adopt a Maoist political program.
It is speculated that Sobukwe was subjected to this special treatment because the South African government had profiled him as a more radical and difficult opponent than the regular ANC prisoners.

These poor dudes were saved as youngsters from a market, but now unfortunately have to be caged for fear of them being killed as pests 😞#HabashweAfrica

Repost @_barefootboy The beautiful Sikelelwa Qetsele from Coffee Bay, showing us her traditional Xhosa homestead. She loves cooking traditional food and sharing stories with visitors from around the world. After qualifying as a cultural tour guide next week, she will be open for business.
